Therefore it sounds like a FLUB flight and if you do a dummy booking for your route and date you might see BA aren't actually selling First?

I'd strongly advise you move back into a business class seat of your choosing as it's more than likely you will be moved, thrown out etc if it is indeed a 4 class plane but no F being sold.
Thank you so much. Connecting from QR so had checked in with them - had to uncheck in, take the BA seat, move back to my QR seat which unchecking in switched for me, and check in again. But all safe and firmly back in 5A in CW proper. If BA want to move me back to F, they'll be welcome to
I fly a lot with Asian airlines in declassified cabins (especially premium eco sold as economy) so hadn't realised BA didn't go FCFS like they do.
ETA: Picked up my BP for the first flight and was given the BP for the BA flight... in 1K. Still well over 18 hours until flying that leg.
