I don't seem to be having luck changing my BA award booking on AA metal to reflect my AAdvantage number. I want to do this so I have free access to preferred seats. Both the Finnair and BA websites flamed out, perhaps because this is an award booking. Any workarounds? Note this is on an AA flight number, not a BA codeshare number.

Looking at using Avios to book PHX-OGG for 32k Avios and I have AA EXP but do not want to get stuck in the back of Y for a 6hr flight.
I have had no issues when using AY manage booking section for this.
Use your BA PNR to look up the reservation, then there is an option to change your FF#, which you will change out to your AA#.
Once complete, and nearly instantaneously for me, your itinerary should show up in your AA account.
As recently as this past weekend i flew on an itinerary after having completed these steps at booking. I was properly listed on the UG list.
