. But then I do not get why I cannot change the second segment. What I see is it is illegal connection but the website and the app regard them as a legal connection so sth is messed up. If I cancel the check-in for the second segment I can see many options for A-B but after I check-in the second one I cannot see any option.

Typically once your flight takes off the coupon is lifted (not sure if my terminology is accurate) and you’ll be able to make changes to the next part of your itinerary. So if it comes to that you don’t need to wait until after the flight segment is completed but you’d be able to do it in the air
Sorry! Wrong info. There is no way to make A-C.
