Re entered the US yesterday and had a line at GE for the first time ever. The lines for citizens and for visitors were still long but at least they didn't stretch back into the hallway. They need to improve the signage in that hallway - it seemed a lot of people were coming back to the hall from the lines for some reason, and everyone was getting in the GE line.
When I entered last week, the signs appeared entirely adequate with almost no one in the GE line while crowded otherwise.

The app wouldn’t have been much help for me. The face recognition at the scanner in the GE line took less time than to say “Glad to be near Navy Pier.”
