100% agree. The OP seems to be more of a PH person, so most any Lindner will be a massive disappointment.

I've now explored several Lindner hotels, although I've been remiss in writing reviews. My conclusion is that you should go in with very low expectations, basically an old Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza in the US or Japan. Don't have a lot of direct Hyatt comparisons, maybe Westlake years ago or HR Fukuoka before it deflagged. Many Lindners have one or two redeeming features, namely that they're usually very cheap on points and often well located. For instance, I spent a number of nights at Lindner Berlin at 3.5k points (minus promo kickback) during high season that was miraculously priced at low season rates. The hotel is located in the heart of former West Berlin, surrounded by beautiful tree-lined streets with art galleries and great restaurants, pleasantly removed from from the hip and graffiti-covered parts of Berlin. Cologne, Prague, Vienna are all dogs, but once again you can't fault the cost and location. The "gold nugget" you ask for is Lindner Mallorca, which (as far as I've seen) is the only Lindner that doesn't have to be ashamed in the company of peers like GH Bali or HR Maui (which to be fair, are middling Hyatts).
