The reason I asked is because all my Dell Notebooks with DVD-ROMs (actually, all 3 that I've purchased have combo drives) have all come with some sort of DVD player software. (they also all came with some sort of cd-rw software as well.)
If you have the CDs that came with it, there should be something, but it should have been installed. Typically, it's windvd. Perhaps they are shipping one of the sonic players now. I'm not really sure.
Even if you purchased an external dvd-rom drive, it should have come with some sort of dvd player software.
You can buy a dvd playback codec for around $15 from sonic. It should work with wm9 and wm10.
