Activities & Who is doing what:

Over time this post will be have more information and links to other posts in this thread.

Activities are listed in an online google document file Click here Click activities tab

Some people attend all activities and others a few or maybe only the main Saturday night dinner. All are welcome albeit all or 1 activity. On the Friday some of the early attendees meet for self arranged lunch/what ever. People can start to arrive from Wednesday and some do not leave until the following Tuesday/Wednesday. Some people leave Oz Fest on the Sunday.

Some activities require pre payment to Oz Fest and others a commitment to attend. The Oz Fest team base costs on people attending activities based on known flights and the history of similar events attended. Due to commitments the Oz Fest team has made/will make to restaurants, suppliers and/or vendors no refunds are possible, unless another person takes your place. We often have to pay upfront for activities and/or restaurants and/or guarantee numbers. The cost does not include the fees (~7.5%) Oz Fest pay to the reservation web site.

Friday Evening Chinese/Asian dinner.
The restaurant is Mrs Q 1/128 Gouger St, Adelaide. 7:00 - 7:15pm start.
Prepaid, to Oz Fest, for a tailored menu, it costs $69pp. Drinks are an additional cost.

Saturday Bus Day Trip
Meet at the Hilton Foyer at 08:45 sharp for a bus pickup. Cost of the bus is $50, prepaid, to Oz Fest.

Bus trip to The Gorge Wildlife Park. We will be at the park for two hours. Park entry is $18 for Seniors, $21 for adults, and $11 for kids. At 11:00, it is koala cuddling time. This must be pre-booked, so please advise ASAP.

Travel to a Lane Vineyard from the Wildlife Park for a wine tasting and nibbles. The cost is $26, with a $10 discount on the wine purchased.

For those not interested in the wine tasting, the bus will continue to Hahndorf, a gorgeous German Village, for a 2-hour shop/stroll.

Lunch is your choice, either at Lane’s Winery or at Hahndorf. (Lane Vineyard and Hahndorf are only 3 km apart.)

After lunch, the bus heads through the McLaren Valley to the Iconic d’Arenberg Cube. The Cube is an interesting and unique attraction for this mainstay Australian Winery. There are many things to do here, with a café, a gin distillery where several award-winning gins with distinct flavours are available. There is a world-leading Salvador Dali Exhibition showcasing the artist's talents. The cost to enter the Cube is $20, with an additional $10 entry fee to access the Dali Exhibit.

We leave the Cube for a short trip back to Adelaide, which allows for a few hours' break prior to dinner.

Saturday Evening Oz Fest Drinks and Dinner
18:30 -19:15 drinks at Hilton Bar on the ground floor.
Walk to Roma's Italian Restaurant, 11 Waymouth Street, for a 19:30 dinner in a private room.
There will be antipasto and nibbles while we have a pre-dinner drink and chat before a sit-down meal.
Drinks are pay-as-you-go, and the meal cost is $70 pp prepaid to Oz Fest.

Sunday: River Cruise
Meet at the Hilton at 10:00, then we can take a stroll down to the river for a Popeye River Cruise on Torrens River at 11:00.
The River Cruise is $17 pp for a 45-minute cruise on the Torrens River. (Pay as you board)

Following this, you are free to walk to the nearby Australian Wine Centre, followed by free time.

Edit. From post 202
We have made some queries about the cruise options with the company. The boat heads up the river and back with running commentary on the surrounds along the river. With the one-way option you would disembark at a landing beside the Adelaide Zoo which is near the cruise's turnaround point. After that stop, the cruise heads a little further up the river before turning around to head back to starting point. This is the return option. We were advised that if you get off at the zoo and plan to rejoin a later cruise to go back, two one-way fares would be needed.

It is up to you whether to pre-book or not; we have targeted the 11am option as a reasonable time for this activity.

A simplified version of what’s planned at this stage is as follows:

Friday Evening:
Chinese Dinner Gouger St Restaurant. If we have sufficient numbers they will close to the public and open only for us.

Saturday Morning: 0900 Bus pickup.
Bus trip to an Animal Park. Koala cuddling etc is available.
From the Animal park travel to a winery or Hahndorf for lunch. Individual Choice.
After lunch back on the bus to McLaren Vale for the afternoon at the d’Arenberg Cube.
Leaving the Cube back to Adelaide for few of hours break prior to dinner.
Dinner details TBA

Sunday:
