When she started the cancellation process, she said that she actually couldn't cancel it because it was priced in EGP and that I would need to contact Oneworld to cancel the ticket. I pointed out that QF had sold me a QF ticket, that they work with other currencies all the time, and that there was no Oneworld desk for me to call. She put me on hold again and then hung up.

My second call was to the same number. I got someone who sounded more competent, spent 15 minutes looking into it, said that I could cancel without penalty since one of my flights were cancelled.and then sent me to another department. This department processed the refund within five minutes.

I received a full refund (minus some currency changes amounting to about $50 US) within 48 hours.
nice, i would thought 5% is the minimal penalty, on one of the flight got cancelled, does the agent considered it's an early segment or towards the end?
