Kind of like movie theaters. I would hope for a passenger revolt to such stupidity, but you never know with the American Sheeple.
As long as there are people with food allergies or religious or other dietary restrictions, they can't. I have to carry my own food on trips because of allergies- I'm pretty sure the airlines are happier with this solution than trying to cook up a meal that I can eat, make absolutely positive that they can get it on my plane, and go through all the related hassle.
