I didn't say it specifically involved SEs. I said if there is some sort of move to reduce R space in advance of the gate, SEs are likely to benefit, since at the gate it's status first after cabin. Not sure where you got the idea that I thought SEs were the only people who might want to upgrade on latitude fares. What a funny view that would be.

I know upgrades on latitude don't require R space. I fly overseas over a dozen times a year and upgrade at least half of those flights without R space being available (and the other half with R space being available). Not sure why you feel it necessary to repeat that, it's not at issue. I think perhaps we are talking past each other or miscommunicating somehow.
