I think the issue with the DM story is the hyperbolic “chaos”. And as for it being “better” when the military came in off the bench, it wasn’t better. Especially if you can use the egates. There’s almost never any meaningful wait for an egate. I have to go to the desk in T5 (passport works in egates everywhere else) and even here, there’s almost never a wait for US/UK/EU, etc.
Long story short, this will be a non event especially for anyone able to use the egates.
