I am arriving in DOH in F on the A380 from BKK at 10:30 PM. My flight out is 27 hours later at +2 1:30 AM to JFK in J. The flights are on one PNR on an AA award. I will not have checked bags.
I have a room at the Oryx hotel booked for the night of my arrival, and my intent is to leave the airport and go into Doha the next day (and leave my carry-on bags at the Oryx hotel). But I was reading the QR web site, and it indicates boarding passes for US bound flights are only issued up to 24 hours in advance.
If I do not have a boarding pass, and the transfer desk is unable to print me one, will I still be able to go to the Oryx hotel on the night of my arrival? Last time I transferred in Doha, I do not remember the transit security checking onward boarding passes.
The best answer is YMMV.
I transit DOH quite often.
From BKK, most of the time, we are let out and into the terminal - no security.
When I do go through security... Most of the time they scan my onward bp. Sometimes not. At least one time, I accidently gave them my original bp and got through no problem. Another time, as a test, at the automated BC security, I used my arriving BP to see what would happen; it worked just fine.
So it goes back to YMMV.
