I credited all of my US flights to UA, so I guess UA will call it even?

The reason why the original poster is trying this is because SAS is leaving Star Alliance for SkyTeam, and does not have a million miler program so there's nothing to match to now. After SAS joins SkyTeam, then AF/KLM definitely won't match because they're in the same alliance.
In addition, all airlines these days care about how much business ("loyalty") you've given them recently, and whether that will result in more business in the future. Historical loyalty doesn't seem to be worth much to the modern airline outside of million miler programs. (which seem to be more prevalent in US carriers)
