Broken, yes. Let me give an example.
I have an international PF ticket. The final segment is domestic YVR-YYC, so it is effectively a Lat, well it is PF but books into B. This ticket was booked ages ago, and it advertised eupgrade space available on all 4 segments. All the other segments upgraded the same day I booked it, but not this final YVR-YYC segment.
Concierge tells me there is no R, and it will go to the gate.
OK, let's test this. I booked a new YVR-YYC Lat ticket. Then asked for an eupgrade. It cleared immediately.
There are no words on the Air Canada site that can explain this.
I have asked Air Canada for an explanation. I will obviously be cancelling this test booking. But this is not how the program is advertised.
