Not exactly cheaper, but if you’re hungry then much better value. At Japan’s Narita Airport, T1, there’s a McDonalds where a “Super Chicken” burger and a complimentary cup of water will cost about €1.40 (¥240). If you’re not fussy about what you eat, then yes, an apple pie with a cup of water is about the same price €1 (¥170)
I don’t smoke, but if I wanted to satisfy my own vices I can beat that €0.99 price with a cup of water, some soft serve ice cream and a crispy cereal cone. That costs €0.90 (¥150)
