Seems to be hit or miss. On my two long haul Condor flights so far, I waited to see if the price would be reduced before take off, but ~48 hours before departure the remaining 2 prime seats were taken with no signs of discounts being offered. That being said, I've read in other reviews on other forums that discounts were offered at the check-in counter if the seats aren't already sold out.

On a full flight, you could wait and not assign your seat and possible get assigned a prime seat by default of being the last seat available. But that runs the risk of getting a seat you don't want. It appears they will sell out the full cabin on these flights irrespective of people paying for prime seats.
