Both are going into a downward spiral on their own way , just you havent noticed it yet, ask AF or KL veterans here and they can tell you a more about it
Reading all the online reviews out there about any/all airlines, which airline isn't on a "race to the bottom" or downward spiral? Even Emirates/Qatar/SQ/"you name it" get plenty of bad online reviews every single year, and claims that service/overall quality was better in years past.
