I can't help but laugh when reading this...
I'm a BA Gold (OWE) and even on cash business tickets costing £4k/US$5k+ I have not so much as gotten a greeting on board, nor have had my food order taken first. On my several PE and Y flights, no greeting or even an offer of a glass of wine or champagne.
I did get an upgrade from PE to J once.
