My last pair of Pathward InComms were declining (at USPS mind you, not Walmart) recently. I initially thought it was maybe because I hadn't quite passed the hour activation window - but even tried the next day, different location, etc. No dice...reps always say that the card is active and to try a different merchant. Not wanting to get the cards frozen and having to order replacements, I tried day-to-day spending (gas, Whole Foods, Costco, etc.) and never once got another decline on either card. I would tend to agree with theories on here that InComm or Pathward is blocking transactions like these, sensing money order purchases. I just noticed the "If you need help due to a declined transaction and have sufficient funds to cover the purchase, your Gift Card was most likely declined due to security and safety measures in place to protect your funds." warning at very top of the Vanilla gift card website.

I might try Sutton InComms next, if I can find them around here - maybe Walgreens... But with inconsistent results combined with all of my local Walmarts asking to "see cards 1st," it may very well be the end for me.
