The question :
- is there a lounge at IC AMS : no
- why is there no lounge at IC AMS : it is a small sized hotel with limited room/suite count max 79 chambres
- it needs a lounge per Intercontinental standards : actually it's not mandatory, *cough* the cličntele is diverse but there is old & new money + (crowned)vips which generate stable revenue
- but the hotel quotes having the "Amstel lounge" : i repeat again, this Amstel Lounge is not a club lounge : it is a food & beverage venue
we all call it in Dutch the "serre" but it befits more a conservatory where one can park their butt undisturbed and order light refreshments / afternoon tea

is still quite trending topic at HfP forums....
https://www.headforpoints.com/forums...a-club-lounge/

ofcourse i could always refer to FT:IHG comunity project:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inte...s-lounges.html
If it is not mentioned there, there is no physical club intercontinental lounge .....

So after these messages,
i'm back in my zen furniture mode at IC AMS,
life is still good and the tulips are out

indeed IC AMS as we all lovingly know it,
steps currently in the spotlight as the Amstel hotel,
in word, brand, logo and communication,
personally i find it a much better brand recognition and reputation amongst locals, Dutchies, amongst regulars etc...

as nicolas75 has discretely mentioned,
i do know "nothing", i do suspect a lot, i have a gut feeling as the cards, planets, stars know everything....
plus a chit chat with other incognito guests kinda confirms the heading the hotel is taking....

i shan't reveal much now as i'm still lavishing the calm environment of the room,
i can understand and have good hunches why the owner + management are making some daring choices to step in boldly forward for the future.
or i could be all wrong as there is always the possibility of a bitcoin crash, a nuclear power struggle or an alien invasion..... let alone the price of a smile going up in value...

i'll post my IC AMS review next week when i'm finally able to get to try out and experience IC Estoril.....
Sitting hopefully in the Portugese sun, it gives me inspiration to do a write up

Psst: i can reveal though a little bit of the current modern mentality floating about in Amsterdam of luxury....
and why the hotel is taking its present stance and revising its future strategy....
Spoiler
