I live in the metro Nashville area and was in the path of totality in 2017.That day in August had a lot of intermittent cloudy skies. The Grand Ole Opry had a really fun party there but as the sky became darker, it triggered ALL of the lights there plus at the immediately adjacent huge Opry Mills Mall which mitigated the magic so to speak. That, plus the increasing clouds made it less than desirable for the experience. Fast forward to April 8 and I am in the 90% zone of totality and yet again, the forecast is for mostly cloudy skies. I did buy brand new solar glasses just in case the skies do allow better viewing. No other occupation in the world is allowed to be so wrong as much as meteorology, yet they keep their jobs! For once I hope the forecast is wrong here!
Good luck to those who either already live in the zone or who travel there!
