It looks like your stays in Nagasaki and Sasebo may overlap with a couple of festivals. In late April (no exact date is given), there is the Nagasaki Tall Ships Festival.

If you run out of things to see and do in Nagasaki, I'd suggest (as I mentioned before) a trip to Hirado or Shimabara. Both cities have old-style castles, and other old sights and museums.
