As others have said, going to LHR late at night is the worst of all options. Stay near LGW if you don't want to go to to Central London, and get the very simple, cheap and fast coach or Thameslink/Elizabeth Line the next morning. Leaving at around 9 - 9:30 is plenty early, whether by coach or by train.
