It must have been back in 2022 when the U.S. Government still mandated masks at airports and while traveling on airplanes. The intrepid TSA decided to do gate ID checks while we were all lined up in Boarding Groups 1 & 2. The erstwhile TSA Defender of Freedom checked all of our picture IDs against our actual faces. He had extraordinary powers of discernment to identify each one of us while we were wearing our mandated masks. He didn't dare ask us to remove our masks for verification. I deliberately presented my Global Entry ID to the Defender of Freedom with my thumb covering my photo. No problem. We boarded the flight, took off, and we didn't explode mid-flight.
