"Based on my own views and those received from others, this seems like an appropriate time for a new thread that consolidates the topics into one thread and starts fresh to leave the old stuff behind. In my mind, it's tentatively titled "Concierge service: the good, the bad, and the ugly" or something along those lines. While I understand the desire to sometimes have a greater number of threads, this is another case where the content constantly bleeds back and forth.

I think the concierge threads are also another example of information vs experience threads that has sometimes been suggested not really working - the information thread is full of experiences, and sometimes the thanks/no thanks stories are more informational since people didn't understand what a concierge could or couldn't do.

I think the approach in many threads of having a lot of the basic information in a wiki has been very helpful in terms of that information vs experience split. I think the threads with high-quality wikis have a lot less repetitive discussion about basic information and allow for more discussion of experiences."

AGREED--the good, the bad, and the ugly (and managing expectations--perhaps a lot of managing expectations dealt with in the wiki)
