Some years ago oliver2002 was flying on LX to PEK on his birthday. A few of his friends wanted to surprise him by ordering a cake from on-board surprise but LX IT let us down. Because he had a connecting flight it was impossible to order a surprise. Instead we contacted the then Swiss Lurker since Oliver had already posted in the Swiss Lurker thread about flying on his birthday

Swiss Lurker (Nick) already had some surprise in mind although he did not admit it in his reply. When we found our plan to order an on-board surprise would not work we contacted Nick and asked him to pass on our greetings which he did on a handwritten card. LX lost a few CHF revenue since we couldn’t order a cake but we knew Nick had already arranged a few surprise presents which MdC handed to him.

Oliver reported MdC later came back to ask who exactly he was!
