If your ticket hasn't been reissued showing the upgrades, you should worry. [Some agents seem to be confused because the first letter of the fare class apparently can be the same for mileage tickets and upgrades.] What cabin class(es) did you purchase on the new ticket?

I agree,. When I called to cancel the flight and have my global upgrade certificate moved to my new flights, I expected to lose the paid upgrade. I know the rules I knew it was not a going to be refunded.

So I told the agent that I needed cancel the first two flights, and move the global upgrades to my new dates. The new flights were booked in main cabin, using miles. She proceeds to do all that and tells me that she has attached the global upgrade certificates to the new flights, and for the flight to CDG I was upgraded , and for the flight back I was on a waitlist. I get off the phone and go into the reservation to pick my seats and on my first flight. I’m in D1.

Since about 10 minutes before I called, my return flight had been available for upgrade to premium select with the certificate. I go back and try to rebook it doing a dummy booking. Still shows available online so I decided to try calling back and seeing if somebody else can clear me into premium select. The 2nd agent did that.

now I have no idea how I wound up on D1 on my flight to CDG call but I am not complaining😂.
