Were you looking at tickets departing within the next month? I read somewhere (can’t remember where, sorry) that Qatar has recently introduced higher redemption levels for “last minute” award bookings. The article suggested an approx 20% hike in those cases.

Caveat: I’m not sure if this is actually true, as I haven’t had to book anything myself as yet.
