what are the logistics to having “secret shoppers” in revenue seats to observe all these outrageous fa incidents ( hogging up a coveted FT fc seat), routing them back to their home base or paying for an overnight hotel ?

I asked if management knows of and does anything about this, and the response was yes and no, respectively. The fish rots from the head down.
don’t believe everything you hear

breaks are required on any flights 8 hrs plus, usually 2 breaks. Half the crew goes to the bunks or crew rest seats while the other half mans the flights & then vice versa. Thats when personal cell phone use would be officially allowed.

Reading books or magazines on the jumpseat used to be illegal before ULH 10/15/20 hr flts became normal. Lots of downtime for fa’s Smartphones are here to stay.
Using phones during critical phases of flight (taxi, take off/landing) is def no bueno.
