NPS also brings a 1.2 ton weight reduction and the option of an additional 3 tons of MTOW.
NPS cannot be retrofitted.
It is more than the sidewalls. The aft pressure bulkhead is moved aft by one frame, and along with some changes at the front of the cabin, results in 35 inches more cabin length aft of the cockpit. Most of this additional space is for galley space and lavatories, but it frees up cabin space worth probably one row of economy.
Some of the NPS performance improvements (improvements in flap control and gear raising speed) are software based and can be retrofitted to existing A350 aircraft.
