Hi all, I'm new to the forum but have been following this thread for a while. Thank you for all of the insights herein!
Wondering if someone can give me guidance for my specific situation:
- I currently have my family of 4 booked one-way in Mint, BOS-AMS, in June. ~300k points plus maybe $2500, IIRC.
- I have 6 MTM certificates that I don't think I'll have an opportunity to use the rest of the year.
So, the question is: Should I cancel the trip above and re-book with certificates to save some money? What is the safest and most efficient way to do this and keep everyone in Mint? The tricky part, I think -- please correct me if I'm wrong -- is that aside from via the certificates, I can't upgrade to Mint after booking, except at the gate. And I don't think I can use either points or certificates for an itinerary where I'm not traveling? (In other words, I can't e.g. put my kids in Mint on one itinerary using points, and then book myself and my wife on a second one using the MTM certs?)
Thank you!
