This has been my experience as well. Attempt to swipe for $500 locks the card. Swipe for $499 has worked 8 times so far. I've stopped trying $500 swipes, and only did 490 to 499 so I don't know if 500 would be BAU, but 499 is working without any issues.

These are a mix of SS and Vani from WM and SW, all loaded to misc prepaids. No MO DPs from me ATT.
