I think you may have confused the credit card acceptance by MRT with BTS. MRT will allow you to purchase with a credit card in a value of 300 Baht or above. With BTS, unfortunately, I have ALWAYS been told no we do not take credit cards for payment, even if I purchased a higher amount as 500 baht. Hence, I always use Thai Baht to reload my rabbit card. Now, I just by the all day pass for 150 baht.
