Anyways, per the "discrimination" argument: by Canadian law (or any country I can think of), your elite flyer status isn't a protected class 😂. Yeah a business can "discriminate" aka treat different in less-salty terms between paying and non-paying customers too, just like they can between different program status. Otherwise, all the airlines would've been sued already over the status priority baggage / boarding lane & other "discriminatory" treatments towards different loyalty tiers & no-status customers.
