I book AAA rates on Marriott all the time and I've never had trouble getting credit. You can see on marriott.com if rates are commissionable. If they are, that's a good indicator you'll get your points. The T&C on gc.com also says you can't earn at W Hotels or Autograph Collection, but I got credit on an Autograph Collection stay in October and I just had miles post today for a stay at a W Hotel ending on 12/1. Up through the middle of this year I had to contact eShopping to have them manually post credits for Marriott stays, but lately, they've been posting 2 weeks after the stay, like clockwork.
