FWIW, I started churning Barclay’s Hawaiian cards in 2016 when it was possible to get multiple new cards (and SUBs) each year. Considering I’ve flown HA once in 2014 before I had a HA account (miles credited to AA) and didn’t have any plans to fly on HA and I was quite involved with Hilton, I planned to and did transfer the first 4 SUB miles (in 2016 and 2017) to Hilton points (at 1 to 1.5). Switched to HA biz cards in 2018 (mainly due to Chase 5/24) and soon learned that Barclays has a non-negotiable 24 month limitation on new accounts of the same type. Hilton xfers ended during COVID (supposedly “temporarily”) so now I have a bunch of orphan miles.
Started churning BOA Alaska cards in 2015, also when it was possible to get multiple new cards (and SUBs) each year, 10 cards between 2015 and 2018. Planned to use Alaska miles for Emirates (or maybe it was Etihad) redemptions. Started churning BOA Alaska biz cards in 2021 (mainly due to Chase 5/24) and soon learned that with those as my only BOA cards and BOA’s 2/3/4 rule, a new application (and hopefully SUB) every 6 months was a nice velocity.
Can’t do my next application for either card until next spring

, hope I can get a couple more approvals (and SUBs) prior to the merger

.
what do you do to existing bofa card before applying next one?
