The new T5 setup works pretty well if you are returning a car to the car rental center/intermodal transit building (or riding the PACE buses), as T5 is the first stop on the people mover (it took a long time to get this working, but it was in fact working earlier this year when I was at ORD). The only issue for me was the rudeness of the airport employees monitoring the lines to TSA. The SkyClub is a fair walk from the security exit but worth the effort.
There is a great new express Pace bus from Evanston and the end of the Yellow Line/Skokie Swift to the O’Hare MMF/rental car facility. This new express bus, the Dempster Street Pulse, runs every 15 mins or so.
Once at the MMF there is a one stop ride on the train to T5. This bus was much nicer than the CTA Blue Line experience and has worked well for since I stay in the northern part of Chicago.
