It would be nice if AC would adjust the eupgrade expiry date somehow. Why not just make them valid for an actual year as opposed to the current benefit year (Jan-Jan). I do know if you earn credits later in the year they are valid until the end of the next benefit year, which means they are often valid well over a year. But on the same token if you earn them up to August or something they're only valid for as little as a few months. This seems a bit unfair.
I'm in that crazy situation in December where I have 140 eupgrades earned early in the year (including a MM bonus), and I can't use them for upcoming travel that I'm trying to book. For me, most of this years travel has been in paid J so haven't had a chance to use them.
I want to book a few personal flights in late Jan, Feb and March in Latitude but can't use any of the eupgrades because they mostly expire on Jan 16. The flights I want are instantly upgradable right now but I don't have enough valid credits until I get a new allotment in Jan, when the re-new SE kicks in. This is the price I pay for flying mostly in J instead of just buying Y and upgrading. Seems a bit counter productive for AC, no?
So on that note, does anyone know the earliest we can select benefits when renewing SE status? I checked and seem to have usually selected my benefits in January in the past but I can't remember if you can select earlier than that......... Thanks
