Oh well, either I am making things up, or…

None of the above is allowed at my company, the travel policy clearly states J is only allowed for flights over 8 hours, and hotels are only covered for onsite event and one day before and after… though there is a fine print that it says it’s subject to approval, and I don’t think it needs to be said that people have common sense. Employees aren’t supposed to work during travel, yet I have had people responding to incidents despite not being on call, and people deploying and monitoring a high impact feature right after getting off a 5 hour flight. There are lots of stories like this across multiple departments. But yea, they need to sit in Y to save $1000 fare difference…
