Assuming you are one who pays off the credit card every month, adding $1K spend to the card seems a no brainer. You can even just pre-pay bills you otherwise will be paying in the future so that you aren't spending unnecessarily but just spending early.
My electric company lets me pre-pay up to $1,500 for a flat $3.25 fee. Its a great way to hit minimums or spending thresholds
