Over the last 10 years I've averaged around 150K MQMs a year (with very little flying in the year 2020 & 2021). I have at this moment around 220K MQMs. Deduct 125K for next years status & it will leave me with a balance of around 95K. One more trip gets me over 100K & thereby another year of Diamond status. But like I said earlier, I don't see too much point in pushing for this since I won't hit the new MQD requirement going forward without the co-branded credit cards. May as well start building up status with other airlines where I can easily get to top status.
For 5,000 MQMs I would do the mileage run. Early December is historically a very slow travel period with cheap flights.
