Specifically, the domestic fares change provision requires the entire ticket to be re-fared using current inventory and fares, and measuring advance purchase to the reissue date - so it is identical to voiding the ticket and buying a new one at current prices.

Note that this is not a given, and that most international fares do not work this way, but SDC is a domestic benefit on DL and domestic fares require a total reprice.
