In Amsterdam, you don't change cash money at banks anymore. There are not many actual banks left in town. However, it is super simple to change cash at the exchange offices along Damrak (street between the Dam square and the Central Station). Use pottchange.com close to the Dam square, next to the Swissotel. The rates are on display and it is clear and no hidden charges. Avoid the offices of GWK to change money (they are at the airport but also in town and at the railway station), as they charge a big commission.
