Ok, so Delta went from making it impossible to earn more than silver for me next year, to making it easier for me to earn Platinum next year than under the old system... Go figure.

Taking the credit card usage to the extreme-

Under the old system, with no flying, You would need to spend $800 in annual fees, and put $170k on a Delta Plat and Reserve combined to get Platinum Status and Unlimited Skyclub visits

Under the new system, $1050 in annual fees and $75k on the Reserve... gets you the same thing, plus an extra companion pass.
