That's not true. Many stores have basic repair capabilities in stores (eg. YYZ). Dents, wheels etc can be fixed on the spot often, it's only parts like the screw-less rivets that require special machinery, that cannot be repaired in store.
That USED to be the case in Beverly Hills until they remodeled. My friendly contact there told me that their store are for selling and not for repairing so enjoy that limited repair capability at YYZ while you can. Handles and wheels are definitely not repairable in the store, both in Beverly Hill and Bangkok - I have TRIED it already.
