I'm afraid this is a general trend in the US hospitality industry, where hotels unscrupulously jack up their prices, add amenity fees, and aren't able to train their staff.
The result is just
bad in terms of service (and even
worse in terms of hard product).
Still, fortunately, there are some
nice exceptions.
