Honestly, I don't think it's worth it at all. 300K miles and a couple of nights (likely at an expensive hotel) in Japan? You're going to be too tired over that short time to enjoy it. That doesn't seem worthwhile. Maybe if you were going to stay there for a week and actually have a vacation. I've been DM since that status existed, and can't say it's worth 300K miles anymore, unless you are going to fly a LOT in 2024, and the Global Upgrade certificates would be really helpful for you. Otherwise, what does it get you? Not better treatment, nor rarely more upgrades. All the first class seats are sold out. The choice benefits are nice (but not worth losing 300K miles for unless you truly want the GUC's). Of course, if you have millions of miles and 300K miles mean nothing to you, then maybe it's worth it. But not for just a couple of nights.
