Have you tried changing it to some arbitrary date (temporarily), or have you only tried the one specific flight you want? Maybe you can punt it online to something in the future, then try moving it from there to when you want to fly. At least I’d would buy time.

I find the app and website at least half the time will not let me change latitude fares, or search for alternatives. It’s completely ridiculous.
