Domestic First Award Standby
If one has a Domestic First Award Ticket on a 7pm flight but wants to standby for a 4pm flight, how does the upgrade list work.

I.E. Since I'm standby do they clear the Upgrade list first then clear the standby's then if there are still F seats they upgrade me? Or can I clear before the Upgrade list is upgraded.

I have no shot (if they clear upgrades before standby's) as there are only 2 seats available on the earlier flight.

Or is it possible that I can SDC if there is any seat open on departure day?

I am an AA Plat. But it is out of PHL so I assume my status won't get me any brownie points.
