I hate to disagree with you, but CurbedEnthusiasm is correct. You probably travelled o the Auto Train a while back. Nowadays, the meals are complimentary only for those who have purchased pricey sleeper coach reservations. I don't know if they have games on the sleeping coaches, but there definitely weren't any in the cattle class coaches. From what I have read, compared to Canadian trains, USA trains are still relatively inexpensive.
